A keepsake of legacy, experience, and the lessons Africa taught me.

This isn’t just a book — it’s part of my legacy.
Something meant to be kept, shared, and passed down — from one hunter to another, from father to son, from mentor to friend.

After more than twenty-five years walking the wild soil of Africa — filming hunts, guiding families, and watching the sun set behind acacia trees — I realized I could never truly retire.
Africa became part of me, and The Safari Code is my way of giving a piece of that back.

I’ve come to believe that life unfolds in three great seasons:
learning — when you chase what stirs your heart;
building — when you turn those lessons into something lasting;
and giving back — when you do something that matters and leave a mark.

That’s the season I’m in now.
And this book — this blueprint — is how I’ve chosen to give back.

It’s more than a guide to hunting Africa.
It’s a love letter to the wild.
It’s everything I’ve learned about how to prepare, how to hunt with purpose, and how to let Africa change you in ways you’ll never forget.

Download your free copy below, and let it become part of your story —
a keepsake of legacy, experience, and the unshakable truth that Africa doesn’t just change the way you hunt…
it changes the way you live.

Jim Burnworth —
Hunter.
Storyteller.
Innovator.
Legacy Builder.

Jim Burnworth’s life has been defined by two things: innovation and the wild.

Born and raised in the rugged rain country of Oregon, Jim grew up in his father’s engineering shop — surrounded by circuit boards, soldering irons, and the hum of invention. His father, a pioneer in television technology, worked alongside some of the brightest minds in broadcasting, designing production switchers, time base correctors, and even the first full-motion video phones — one of which Jim personally installed in the White House for the President of the United States.

From those roots, Jim built his own path. He went on to license advanced broadcast technologies around the world and founded what became one of San Diego’s largest video production facilities, complete with custom-built semi-truck studios used for live sports and major corporate events for companies like Amway, Oracle, and Motorola.

Jim worked on sixteen feature films and helped design and build three 24-hour television networks, long before streaming and HD became industry standards. During those years, he also directed and produced shows and campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world, mastering the art of storytelling through technology and emotion alike.

When his love for engineering met his lifelong passion for the outdoors, Jim found his true calling.
He transitioned from building technology that broadcast the world to telling the stories that define it. Over the next two decades, he became one of the most recognizable names in outdoor television — hosting eight national series on the Outdoor Channel, including Western ExtremeChoose Your WeaponThe Force, and Adventures Abroad, the latter filmed entirely across Africa.

Through his shows, millions of viewers came to know not just the hunter, but the man — one who spoke with integrity, reverence, and humor about what hunting truly means. His partnership with Bowtech Archery became legendary; for over 15 years, he served as the company’s global ambassador, launching every new bow to the world and helping to shape an entire generation of archers.

Over his career, Jim has taken more than 1,000 big-game animals with a bow, earning his place among the world’s most respected archers — yet he measures success not in trophies, but in lessons learned.

Today, Jim is the founder of Jim Burnworth Safaris, a venture built to connect people to Africa through ethical hunting, storytelling, and conservation. From the red soil of the Eastern Cape to the open skies of the Kalahari, he has dedicated his life to teaching others how to experience Africa with meaning and purpose.

His recent works — The Safari CodeThe Power of Priority, and Your Ingenious Self — are reflections of that mission: to share wisdom, to inspire, and to give back.

“Africa humbles you, heals you, and hands you back to yourself — a little quieter, a little truer, and forever changed.”

The Grandmother Who Never Thought She’d Hunt

“I’m a grandmother who had never even held a BB gun, let alone a rifle. But under Jim’s expert guidance, I took the first shot of my life—and it was perfect. Africa showed me the true meaning of the hunt. I’m so proud of what I accomplished!”

“The Safari Code gave me chills. It’s not just about hunting — it’s about living with purpose. It made me want to see Africa for myself.”

“I was nervous about my first safari, but The Safari Code and Jim’s guidance made everything smooth, safe, and exciting. Every day was a lesson in respect, conservation, and gratitude.”

“I’ve read dozens of books on Africa, but this one hit different. You can feel Jim’s heart in every word.”

“After six safaris, I thought I’d seen it all. Then I read The Safari Code. Jim captures the soul of Africa — not just how to hunt it, but how to feel it. Every hunter, new or experienced, should read this before stepping on the plane.”

“After reading The Safari Code, I booked my first safari. I finally understood how to plan, prepare, and make it real.”

“I’ve read a lot of hunting books, but The Safari Code stands apart. It’s not about ego or trophies — it’s about purpose, legacy, and rediscovering what hunting really means.”

“This book answered questions I didn’t even know I had. What to pack, how to prepare, what really happens after the shot — Jim covers it all, but with heart. It’s a complete guide that still feels personal.”

“If you’ve ever dreamed of hunting in Africa, start here. The Safari Code removes the mystery, replaces fear with excitement, and gives you the confidence to make it happen.”
